On the whole, Priyuraalu is a bold romantic drama that suits the OTT standards. But he concentrated more on love-making scenes than true emotions and this is where the film falters. Coming to the director Ramaraju, his take on modern relationships is good and he also ends the film well. The camerawork is pretty decent and so were the production values of the film. As there are not many dramatic moments, things look forced. The logic for a toss in most parts as things happen quite easily. More than love-making, the makers should have developed the emotional bond between the couples. Though they look good, after a point, they irritate the audience.
The first half of the film has nothing but love-making scenes. The comedy that is generated through the news channel looks funny. A few emotions in key scenes also impress.
The climax is realistic and is handled well by the director. The harsh realities of city life and how the youth handle relationships are also showcased well in the film. The film has no loud soundtrack to heighten the atmosphere and the background score is good.Īakashavani is like a folklore, do watch it and the director will not disappoint you.Even though all the actors are new, they have performed to the best of their capabilities. The film has a number of theatre actors who have mingled with the junior cast so well and have allowed the story to move forward seamlessly. Samuthirakani and Vinay Verma are apt for their roles. Newcomer Mime Madhu as the doting father Ranga does a fabulous job. There’s a sprinkling of physics and a takeaway about faith. Initially the film keeps you guessing about where the story is headed, but the subtle entertainment creeps in by the interval. There is so much you can gather from the dialogues as well and the well-written screenplay. A Hiranyakashyap-Prahlad story reference works as a catalyst and also a denouement giving the story a perfect closure. The story explores what happens when a school teacher Chandram master (Samuthirakani) steps into this setting and tries to make the tribals see the true picture.
“gorrellaku kommulu undakoodadhu, goodaniki dammulu undakoodadhu ” (the goats shouldn’t have horns and the village shouldn’t have guts). Dora’s chieftain from the tribe, Sambhadu (Teja Kakamanu), makes life miserable for them.ĭora who has plenty of wealth but cannot protect his sick and dying son, tells Sambhadu, “Kill theirĭaivam (God) they shouldn’t listen to Aakashavaani any more.” The chieftain passes a diktat: The tribals are harassed, beaten and forced to consider the king as their God. On the other side of the settlement is a king, Dora (Vinay Verma), and his yes men who continue to live off the tribals who seem to be uncivilised in the conventional manner of speaking. At the end of the film, you are reminded of the moral science class at school. There are many newcomers along with a few familiar faces, but they all come together and do not let your mind wander. This is not an easy film to write and execute. While the director completely relies on the story to work, Suresh Raghutu’s lens captures the beautiful Paderu area and the agency settlement in its greens and browns.
